The Problem

Mail is not reaching your Workspace inbox, and you suspect — or have confirmed — that the MX records are the cause.

Possible Causes

  • MX records never updated after switching to Google Workspace
  • Old provider’s MX records still present alongside Google’s
  • Incorrect priority numbers on the MX entries
  • DNS changes not yet propagated (can take up to 48 hours)

What We Can Check

We look up your domain’s live MX records, compare them to Google’s required values, and check whether propagation is simply still in progress or the records are genuinely wrong.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Look up your domain’s current MX records using any public DNS lookup tool.
  2. Compare the hostnames and priorities against Google Workspace’s published MX values.
  3. Remove any MX records left over from a previous email provider.
  4. Wait for DNS propagation and re-check after a few hours.

When You Need Professional Help

If the records match Google’s requirements but mail still is not arriving after propagation should be complete, the cause is likely elsewhere and worth a proper diagnosis.
